Larrakia Nation delivers a diverse range of community-based services across the Darwin region, including aged and disability care, family and cultural support, tenancy assistance, and outreach programs. The corporation also operates initiatives such as patrol services, Healthy Engagement and Assistance in the Long Grass, Return to Country, Larrakia Hosts, and Land and Sea Rangers, making it a vital provider of holistic support in the area.Role Description The Outreach Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and evaluation of outreach services that support Larrakia people and broader community members in Darwin, NT. This on-site role includes coordinating outreach teams, developing program plans, managing schedules, and ensuring services such as patrol, engagement in the long grass, and family support are delivered effectively and safely. The manager will work closely with community members, partner organizations, and government agencies to strengthen relationships, identify needs, and improve access to services. Day-to-day tasks include supervising staff, monitoring program budgets and reporting, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement of outreach models. The role also involves supporting culturally safe practices, promoting Larrakia perspectives in service design, and assisting with strategic initiatives within Larrakia Nation.QualificationsExperience in community outreach, program coordination, or social services, including managing multidisciplinary teams and service delivery in complex environments.Skills in stakeholder engagement and partnership building, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, and local service providers.Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, facilitate meetings, and engage with diverse community members respectfully.Competence in planning, monitoring, and evaluation, including basic budgeting, data collection, and use of information systems to track outcomes and inform improvements.Understanding of Aboriginal cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and the social determinants of health, with a commitment to upholding Larrakia cultural values and protocols.Relevant tertiary qualification in community services, social work, health, human services, management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.Proven ability to work on-site in Darwin, NT, with flexibility to attend community locations, conduct outreach, and respond to changing community needs.Current driver’s license and ability to meet employment-related compliance requirements (e.g., working with children and police clearances) as required.
