Our Toorak Campus (approximately 320 students) is in Melbourne.  It caters to day students from Early Learning to Year 7. The Toorak campus has approximately 50 full-time and part-time teaching and support staff.   At Toorak every member of our community is valued, respected and committed to providing our students with the highest quality teaching and learning programmes, designed to improve student outcomes, including levels of achievement and wellbeing. Students at the Toorak Campus study the Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is part of the International Baccalaureate (IB).  Teaching and learning approaches are based on the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and the PYP framework and standards and practices. Teaching staff work collaboratively in professional learning teams to support their development and the learning of students in their care.  Our contemporary learning spaces promote team teaching, positive relationships, creativity and differentiated learning experiences.    

About the role  

We invite applications from individuals seeking to contribute to a professional and aspirational environment that values success and supports ongoing learning and development. This is an ongoing, part-time position (0.2FTE) for a French Teacher commencing Semester 1, 2027. 

Applicants must have a positive attitude, a proven record of excellence, and an ability to create an exciting learning environment.  Teachers at Geelong Grammar School are required to be actively involved in our pastoral care and co-curricular programmes.     

All teaching staff at Geelong Grammar School play a significant role in enhancing the resiliency and well-being of students through the delivery of Positive Education, based on the principles of Positive Psychology.  

What you will be doing  

• Teaching Year 7 French, with the reintroduction of year 8 in 2028 the successful applicant will commence teaching year 8 in 2028 

• Facilitating learning programs contributing to activities such as Urban Adventures and partnership‑based experiences 

• Engaging in professional practice taking part in routine professional learning and reflective practice 

• Completing administrative duties meeting organisational and supervisory requirements of the role 

• Supporting student wellbeing providing pastoral care and building positive relationships 

• Undertaking other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position 
  

What we are looking for  

• An experienced teacher with a strong teaching background  

• The ability to teach French language 

• Passionate about contemporary pedagogy and adolescent development  

• Strong curriculum design and planning skills  

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, parents, staff and externals stakeholders.  

• Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work across faculties and with external partners  

• Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail
