Regulatory Breach Specialist
Location: Melbourne CBD (Hybrid , Flexible, 1 office day per month)
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 + Super
About the RoleAre you a legal and compliance professional skilled in navigating complex financial regulations? We are seeking a Regulatory Breach Specialist to lead intricate incident investigations, ensure accurate significance assessments, and drive compliance reporting standards.
In this key role within the Risk & Compliance function, you will act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior analysts, monitoring evolving regulatory trends, and refining incident management frameworks to maintain exceptional compliance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate & Assess: Lead complex incident investigations, ensuring findings are accurate, well-evidenced, and rigorously documented.
Regulatory Reporting: Monitor and interpret changes in breach reporting legislation, maintaining high alignment with regulatory expectations.
Committee Submissions: Prepare and present high-quality reports, notifications, and submissions for internal committees, senior management, and regulators.
Framework Enhancement: Identify risks and inefficiencies in breach reporting processes and recommend continuous improvements.
Mentorship: Coach breach analysts to build capabilities in legal analysis, investigation methodology, and regulatory writing.
Education: Tertiary qualification in Law (or similar legal specialisation).
Experience: Proven track record in regulatory breach reporting and management within the financial services sector.
Presentation Skills: Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting high-level submissions to committees and senior stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess incident significance across multiple regulatory regimes in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Exceptional written communication for drafting regulatory notifications and complex reports.
