Disability Support Worker - Health & Wellbeing - Hamilton

We are looking for a Good Human with particular skills and qualities to assist a fabulous man, who has disability.

You will be joining a small team supporting this man to live in his own home with his housemate, to be included in the community and live his very best life.

The man has complex health needs so we are looking for a new team member who has a good understanding of health care, who is confident learning about and responding to individual health needs.

You will:

• Be part of a small team working person-centred with one (1) man in his home and community
• Have the opportunity to establish a strong rapport with the man, his family and friends

• Have the opportunity to work 15-30 regular hours a week - with the hours negotiated to suit you
• Be employed in a casual position with fortnightly roster - (permanency offered after probation period)

You don't need previous disability support experience – we will provide comprehensive training and support to help you learn everything you need to know.

We are looking for someone with a good foundation in health care who is confident learning about and responding to individual health needs.

What skills and qualities are we looking for?

You are:

• Comfortable learning about and supporting an individual’s complex health needs
• A good communicator, good listener, have strong attention to detail, and can read body language well
• Someone who gets in and gets stuff done

• Able to follow policy and practice guides and maintain records
