About Us

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.

The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.

Procurement Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value-for-money.

What You Will Do

As senior data analyst, you will turn procurement data into useful advice and reports.

You will improve data quality and build tools that support better procurement decisions.

You Will

produce clear spend, market and commercial analysis to guide sourcing plans and procurement work.monitor strategic contracts and report on benefits, risks and opportunities.improve procurement data quality, systems and reporting tools across the department.maintain the procurement taxonomy and support better supplier invoice and sales data.provide trusted advice, solve data problems and support projects led by the manager, insights and reporting.

About You

A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable. This may include procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or business administration. Experience or knowledge of government procurement and policies is also highly desirable.

You Should Also Have

strong analytics skills and experience using data tools to find trends and produce useful reports.clear communication skills to explain technical ideas and findings to people without technical knowledge.systems expertise to improve how systems work and support less experienced staff.strong problem-solving skills to compare options, assess feasibility and explain recommendations clearly.
