Barista All Rounder

About the role

Coffee Guru Brookwater is seeking a Barista All Rounder to join our vibrant team in Brookwater. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality environment. As a Barista All Rounder, you will be the backbone of our café operations, delivering exceptional coffee experiences and outstanding customer service to our valued guests. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards Coffee Guru Brookwater is known for, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and a perfectly crafted beverage.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based drinks, and other hot and cold beverages to exacting standards

• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness

• Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, both in-person and via payment terminals

• Providing knowledgeable recommendations on coffee selections, brewing methods, and food offerings to enhance the customer experience

• Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, including regular cleaning of the bar area, equipment, and customer spaces

• Working the till, processing payments, and handling cash transactions with accuracy

• Restocking supplies, managing inventory, and alerting management to stock levels requiring replenishment

• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods

• Engaging with customers in a friendly, professional manner and resolving any queries or concerns promptly

What we're looking for

• Experience as a barista or in a similar café or hospitality role, with demonstrated proficiency in coffee preparation

• Strong knowledge of espresso, milk-based drinks, and various brewing techniques

• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to scheduling for casual work

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Food safety and hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one

• Barista qualifications or formal coffee training (preferred but not essential)

• Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling (desirable)
