• Base salary $105 to $114K (pro-rata)

The Role

The ABC is looking for a Multiplatform Producer / Reporter and passionate storyteller to help bring important Indigenous Australian stories to a national audience. In this role, you'll develop and report original, agenda-setting content that informs, inspires and drives discussion. Working across multiple platforms, you'll create innovative and impactful journalism that amplifies Indigenous voices and perspectives while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

The Job

• Gather, create and report content (including breaking news) across platforms to engage national audiences.
• Build and maintain strong contacts and sources in the Indigenous Affairs round.
• Pitch, research and produce original stories for daily news, longform and all platforms.
• Monitor broadcast, digital and social media to stay across current events.
• Deliver stories reflecting Australia’s cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity

About You

You'll have: 

• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in journalism, media, or content production.
• Strong storytelling, editorial, and live presentation skills.
• Experience in audio/video editing and digital content production.
• Sound news judgement and ability to research and source stories.
• Understanding of local audiences and issues affecting Australian communities.
• Strong communication skills across radio, television, audio, and digital platforms.
• Passion for creating diverse, inclusive, and authentic content.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and community networks.
