Position Title: Teacher of Religious Education
Tenure: Full-time - Ongoing
Commencement Date: 1 January 2027

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Teacher of Religious Education to join the community at Irene McCormack Catholic College, commencing Monday 20 April 2026. The successful candidate will teach Religious Education across all year levels and, preferably, but not essential, have the capacity to teach ATAR Religious Education. The role involves fostering students’ spiritual, moral and intellectual growth through engaging, contemporary and meaningful learning experiences grounded in the Catholic tradition.
We are looking for an educator who creates an environment where students want to be and want to learn, where Religious Education is dynamic, reflective and relevant. The successful applicant will make learning collaborative and engaging, ensuring students feel heard, respected and valued within a Christ-centred environment. Responsibilities include:
• Teach Religious Education across all year levels, ensuring lessons are engaging, meaningful and aligned with the Western Australian Religious Education curriculum and SCSA requirements.
• Deliver high-quality Religious Education, preparing students effectively for external assessment and academic success.
• Plan and facilitate dynamic Religious Education lessons that reflect the Catholic ethos of the College and nurture students’ spiritual, moral and theological development.
• Design and implement differentiated learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, fostering critical thinking, faith formation and a love of learning.
• Create a classroom environment where students feel valued, listened to and inspired, making Religious Education collaborative, relevant and inclusive.
• Take responsibility for positive behaviour management, promoting respectful dialogue and a reflective learning culture.
• Build strong and constructive relationships with parents to support student faith development and academic progress.

• Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, supporting their academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues, Heads of Learning Area and College leadership to promote holistic development and maintain a positive and respectful Catholic learning environment.
• Participate actively in liturgical life, retreats, co-curricular programmes and the broader mission of the College community.

Only a 25-minute drive from the city and blessed with excellent transport links, Irene McCormack Catholic College offers a Christ-centered and student-focused Catholic education from Year 7 to Year 12. Inspired by the lives of Sr Irene McCormack, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, the College is dedicated to providing a holistic teaching and learning program. · Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with the Principal and Head of Learning Area.
