Trainee IT Assistant

About the role

This Trainee position is ideal for school leavers or juniors with a valid driver's licence. The Trainee IT Assistant will receive on-the-job training from the IT and Branding Manager. They'll learn through Microsoft Teams and in person at our Hobart office occasionally travelling to our QLD office. A passion for IT and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Prioritising tasks based on urgency is also key.

Key responsibilities

• Complete General IT Support Tickets

• Travel in person between physical sites to provide IT Support to staff for Company Issued Devices, that may not be able to be managed remotely (such as Printers)

• Manage and setup of Company Issued Devices in MDM Software

• Learn MDM platforms such as Hexnode UEM & Intune

• Write MDM Policies to apply to Devices

• Enrol Apple Devices such as Macs and iPads in Apple Business Manager then enrol in MDM

• Provision Windows Devices by writing an unattended.xml file then enrolling in MDM

• Use the Microsoft Admin Centre / Entra ID Admin Centre to Setup Staff Accounts and Manage Users & Groups

• Learn use of Exchange Online Admin Centre & Defender/Security Admin Centre to Configure policies for SPAM & Phishing

• Learn SharePoint Online Admin Centre to manage SharePoints

About you

• High School Education (including IT relevant subject)

• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and apps such as Word, Excel, Admin Centre/Entra ID, Microsoft Lists (or willingness to learn)

• Valid driver's licence

• WWVP Card or willingness to obtain

• Police Check (within last 3 months) or willingness to obtain

• NDIS Works Orientation Module (Quality, Safety & You) or willingness to obtain

• Ability to take initiative and research topics

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

• Passion around operating systems and software

• Basic knowledge of coding and/or conditional logic
