Medical Receptionist - Maternity Leave

Vineyard Medical Centre is a purpose built clinic which opened in Sunbury in September 2016.

We are currently seeking an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist to assist with the following duties 5 days/35 hours per week:

• Open and close clinic as per set procedure;

• To greet patients and other callers at the practice in a courteous and efficient manner;

• To answer the telephone promptly and courteously;

• To make appointments for patients following set procedures;

• To issue patients invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required;

• Have a clear understanding of the MBS Schedule, to be able to maintain correct billing procedures;

• Maintain patient information, updating current information, linking family members and unlinking independent children, archiving, etc. on records system;

• To deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists and other professionals, courteously and helpfully;

• To exercise confidentiality in regard to patient care and all aspects of the practice;

• Maintain reception, waiting areas and consulting rooms in a tidy and welcoming manner, including cleaning up spills as they occur;

• And other duties as requested by the General Manager

• Hours may vary between Monday to Friday 6.30am-7.00pm, Saturday 8.00am-1.30pm and the successful candidate must be available for leave cover and Saturdays.

• Maternity leave position initially until 24/07/2027 but may extend

• The successful candidate may be offered the opportunity to continue in a permanent role, following the maternity cover period, working one Wednesday shift per week, subject to successful completion of their probationary period.

• Position commences in October 2026

Key selection criteria

• Minimum two years' experience in administration and customer service, preferably medical;

• Computer literacy;

• Being flexible to cover leave is a mandatory requirement

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Knowledge and/or ability to communicate in a busy business setting;

• Ability to prioritise, organise and perform numerous tasks
