Disability Support Worker – Ballina, NSW

FutureCare Now is seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our Ballina team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day by empowering people with disabilities to live independently, safely, and with dignity.

🎯 What You'll Need

Availability Requirement:

• Ability to work weekends and public holidays

• Ability to accept short notice / last minute shifts when required

• All potential employees are required to be available for active overnight or sleepover shifts.

• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities

• Valid NDIS Worker Check or Working with Children Check and National Police Check are required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Problem-solving and decision-making ability

• Flexibility to adapt to client needs

• Commitment to dignity, inclusion, and person-centred care

• Australian work rights are required for this position

• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or related field (Not Mandatory)

💼 About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker with FutureCare Now, you will play a vital role in supporting clients across a range of daily living needs. This includes:

Personal Care Support

• Assisting with showering, bathing, grooming, and hygiene routines

• Supporting clients with toileting, continence care, and safe manual handling

• Helping with dressing, mobility, transfers, and use of assistive equipment

• Monitoring wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes in health or behaviour

• Collaborate on client-centred support strategies

• Communication effectively with clients, families, and care team

Daily Living & Household Support

• Meal preparation and assistance with eating

• Light domestic tasks and cleaning to maintain a safe and comfortable environment

Community Access & Social Participation

• Supporting clients to attend appointments, activities, and social outings

• Encouraging independence, confidence, and meaningful engagement

Documentation & Communication

• Maintaining accurate shift notes and incident reports

• Upholding client rights, privacy, and person‑centred care principles
