Apprentice Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Forklift Technician to join our workshop team. This is a full-time, four-year apprenticeship where you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. Working alongside fully qualified field and workshop technicians, you will learn to service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of material handling equipment, including electric, LPG, and diesel forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with routine servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment.
· Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
· Conduct repairs and component overhauls under the supervision of qualified technicians.
· Complete TAFE blocks and logbook requirements diligently.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
· Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures.
Skills and Experience
· Genuine passion for mechanical work, electronics, and problem-solving.
· Completion of Year 11 or 12 (completion of a pre-apprenticeship course is highly regarded but not mandatory).
· Mechanical aptitude or hands-on hobbies (e.g., working on cars, bikes, or machinery).
· Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior team members.
· Reliable work ethic with excellent punctuality.
· Current driver’s licence, or progress towards obtaining one.
