Permanent Part-Time Educator and Casual Educators

Who are we?

We are Currumbin Kids Club - an Outside of School Care (OSHC) facility that cares for up to 200 children and young people during the term time and in the school holidays. We operate before and after school hours to create memorable learning experiences in the Currumbin State School community. Our program is all about following child-lead interest and nurturing children's natural curiosity through fun and engaging activities in all areas of interest - sports, arts, STEM, language and music!

What we're looking for:

We are looking for creative, active and capable people to join our team and help children thrive in a play-based environment. We are looking to hire Educators with a love for engaging with children, ability to document the learning process, and take initiative in the logistics of caring for so many children.  If you have passions and hobbies to share, we would love to know more about how you can incorporate your interests into our program. 

*PERMANENT PART-TIME EDUCATOR*

Qualified or Studying? A minimum of Working Towards or have attained a 2-Year ACECQA recognised qualification preferably in Diploma of School-Aged Education and Care or Early Childhood Education and Care.  Assess your qualification through https://www.acecqa.gov.au/qualifications/nqf-approved.  

Our Requirements:

• A Blue Card (QLD) is required

• Willing to complete GECCKO Child Safety training within two weeks of commencing

• Provide a copy of your course transcripts

• Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)

• During term, consistent availability for Before School Care (6:30am to 9:00am) and After School Care (2:00pm to 6:00pm)

• Consistent availability for Vacation Care. Extended shifts are available during Vacation Care of up to 6 hours per day and we go on several fun excursions in the area!

• Remuneration will be as per the Parents and Citizens Award – State 2016 and include accruing entitlements such as Sick and Annual Leave; Split Shift Allowance, Uniform Allowance, etc. This is including ECEC Worker Retention Payment until June 2028

Responsibilities: 

• Active Supervision - making sure everyone in our care is safe, healthy and having a good time.

• Help with programming - coming up with some ideas for games, art projects or activities that the children will love!

• Engage with children - nurturing their natural curiosity and joining in their games.

• Document - writing about the learning process and link planned and spontaneous activities to MTOP frameworks.

• Assist with morning and afternoon tea - serving food in a hygienic manner

• Helping to tidy up - amongst other daily responsibilities.

*CASUAL EDUCATOR ROLES*

Qualified or Studying? A minimum of Working Towards or have attained a Certificate III in an ACECQA recognised qualification such as the Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care or Early Childhood Education and Care.  Assess your qualification through https://www.acecqa.gov.au/qualifications/nqf-approved.  

Our Requirements:
