Fire Technician All-Rounder

About the role

Freo Fire Maintenance Services is seeking an experienced and motivated All-Round Fire Technician to join our growing service and maintenance team. This role is ideal for a reliable technician with experience across multiple fire protection disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Monthly and annual fire detection and fire panel testing

• Fire panel operation, isolation, resetting and basic fault finding

• Testing of smoke detectors, thermal detectors, warning devices and system interfaces

• Inspection and testing of portable fire equipment, including fire extinguishers and fire blankets

• Inspection and testing of exit signs and emergency lighting

• Passive fire inspections, including fire doors and passive fire protection systems

• Wet fire system testing, including fire hydrants, hose reels

• Basic operation/Testing Knowledge of sprinkler systems, pumpsets and associated equipment

• Identifying defects and providing clear recommendations

• Completing accurate electronic service reports and maintenance records

About you

• Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or be working towards completion

• Experience with monthly and annual fire panel testing

• Experience servicing portable fire equipment

• Experience with emergency lighting and exit sign testing

• Knowledge of passive fire protection inspections

• Experience testing wet fire systems

• Familiarity with AS 1851:2012, including Amendment 1

• Practical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

• Clear written communication and accurate reporting skills

• A current Australian driver's licence
