Instructional Design Guru

About the role

Optivly is seeking an Instructional Designer with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. We craft engaging and enjoyable learning experiences suited to the context of the learner. You will work across all components of creating learning products, from initial brief through to delivery, designing a variety of learning experiences including online self-paced courses, blended delivery, and face-to-face sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client discovery, training needs analysis, and strategic big-picture design
• Deliver detailed design of learning interventions including scripting and storyboarding
• Perform quality assurance of developed products
• Manage review cycles and sign-off with clients
• Design learning experiences across different delivery modes
• Apply UX-driven design principles with focus on user journey, accessibility, and visual appeal
• Collaborate with clients and fellow designers to create learning outcomes
• Own project lifecycles, including client and budget management
• Work with diverse toolkit including 2D and 3D assets, AR/VR, videos, and HTML5-based tools

About you

• 3-5 years of experience in instructional design
• All-round design experience across components of creating learning products
• Expertise in designing for different delivery modes
• Quick to learn and able to apply technology to meet audience needs
• Understanding of UX principles and their impact on design work
• Great personal and communication skills
• Independence and strong self-management and project organisation skills
• Comfortable with planning and prioritisation
• Capability and confidence to manage concurrent projects
