About The Role

Step into a rewarding role that directly impacts life-changing donations. Working with our generous donors, you'll enjoy a more predictable, people-focused environment, with less hospital pressure and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with your community.

As a Registered Nurse, you'll use your clinical expertise alongside your exceptional customer service skills to deliver a safe and positive donor experience. Every day, you'll meet a diverse range of donors, from first-time donors who may be nervous about donating, to regular donors committed to helping save lives.

You'll play an important role in creating an experience that is welcoming, efficient and supportive, ensuring donors feel valued while respecting the time they have generously given. Working with modern collection equipment, digital systems and technology, you'll also continue developing your skills through our structured Inspire Training Program, combining practical clinical training with on-the-job experience.

A day in the centre could see you:

Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donateProvide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection processComplete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin testsSet up machines and collections equipmentInsert and remove needles safely to collect plasma (and a smidge of whole blood)Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistanceMonitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

Our Inspire Training Program provides paid, structured training that combines practical clinical experience, online learning and on-the-job support to help build your confidence and expertise throughout your training journey. Besides having a real passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience, you’ll need to be able to:

Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgsFrequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood productsUtilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registrationBe flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends, mornings and afternoon shiftsBe available to work shifts from and between 06:15am and 08:00pm Have your own vehicle and driver's licence.
