Experienced Barista – High Volume Café | Casual or Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our team at Mountain View Cafe, located within the beautiful Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, approximately 20–30 minutes from Caloundra.

We are a busy, high-volume venue with a strong coffee trade, so this role is best suited to someone who is genuinely confident behind the machine and can move quickly through busy services while maintaining quality and consistency.

We are flexible around hours for the right person. This could suit someone looking for a few regular shifts each week, or we would also consider a full-time position for an experienced barista who is the right fit for our team.

• Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages

• Working efficiently on the coffee machine during high-volume services

• Dialling in grinders and adjusting throughout the day to maintain consistent extraction

• Maintaining consistent milk texture, coffee quality and presentation, even during peak periods

• Delivering friendly and efficient customer service

• Assisting with cashiering and other front-of-house duties as required

• Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked coffee station

• Working closely with the wider team to keep service running smoothly

• Being willing to jump into other areas of the cafe when needed

• Strong commercial barista experience, ideally 2+ years in a similarly busy environment

• Confident jumping straight onto the machine and handling high-volume service

• Able to work quickly without sacrificing coffee quality or consistency

• Confident dialling in grinders, monitoring extraction and making adjustments when required

• Strong milk texturing skills and the ability to consistently produce quality coffee and latte art

• Good understanding of espresso, extraction and commercial coffee equipment

• Calm, organised and efficient during peak periods

• Friendly, approachable and reliable

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Good problem-solving and multitasking ability

• Happy to assist in other areas of the cafe rather than working exclusively on the coffee machine

• Someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and creating a great customer experience

We have some flexibility depending on what the successful applicant is looking for.

Ideally, we are looking for someone available for a mixture of weekdays and weekends, including a couple of weekdays and at least one weekend day most weeks. Some weeks may include both weekend days.

The number of shifts and hours can be tailored somewhat to the right candidate.

For someone looking for more hours, we would also consider offering a full-time position to the right experienced barista.

Mountain View Cafe is located within the stunning Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, overlooking the Glass House Mountains.

We are a large, busy destination cafe serving high-quality coffee, fresh food and in-house baked goods in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our coffee section can get genuinely busy, so we are looking for someone who enjoys that pace, knows their way around a commercial machine and takes pride in producing consistently good coffee no matter how many orders are coming through.
