About the role

Tripax is seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team in Bayswater, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into creating custom stainless steel equipment, and components for the food industry that meet our clients' specifications and quality standards. This position is integral to our production capability and directly contributes to the success of our projects and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, details and specifications to determine the appropriate fabrication methods and materials required

• Operate and maintain a range of metalworking machinery and equipment, including cutting, bending, shaping and joining tools

• Perform welding operations to join metal components and assembly's with precision and durability

• Measure, cut, and shape metal materials to exact specifications using hand tools and power tools

• Assemble stainless steel equipment and components for the food industry, according to design requirements and quality standards

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications and industry standards

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and project requirements

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or formal apprenticeship in metal fabrication, welding, boilermaker or fitting

• Proven experience as a Stainless Steel Fabricator or similar welding and fabrication role, with demonstrated technical competency

• Sound knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, welding processes and metalworking machinery

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing work that meets precise specifications and quality standards

• Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools and specialised fabrication equipment

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance

• Physical fitness and ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely
