Estimator

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates that support the profitability and growth of Danco Painters. Working closely with the General Manager, project managers and suppliers, this role ensures high-quality, reliable cost assessments and contributes to efficient tender submissions. The Estimator plays a key role in helping Danco deliver commercial Partitions, ceilings and painting projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate estimates for tenders using CostX, including BOQs, cost plans, and pricing breakdowns.

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to ensure all project components are costed appropriately.

• Review tender documentation (including addendums), identify and assess risks, and clarify scope as needed.

• Conduct site visits as required to understand project conditions and inform more accurate costing.

• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive and timely pricing.

• Maintain and update internal cost databases and rate libraries; track local market trends and trade benchmarks.

• Assist with project handovers by providing accurate pricing breakdowns and participating in internal briefings.
