The French Jewel Box is a well known boutique specialising in fine antique and vintage jewellery, located in the historic Block Arcade in Melbourne's CBD. We pride ourselves on curating exceptional pieces with rich histories and providing knowledgeable, personalised service to our clientele.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced, senior-level sales professional to run the day-to-day operations of our boutique on a part-time basis covering the vital weekend days. Working alongside one junior staff member, you'll take a leading role on the shop floor — guiding customers, managing daily operations, and helping maintain the high standards our clients expect.

Schedule
Part-time, Saturday, Sunday & Mondays

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting and purchasing high-end pieces,

• Provide expert, engaging customer service with a genuine passion for antique and vintage jewellery

• Maintain store presentation, stock handling, and point-of-sale processes

• Building lasting client relationships

• Liaise with and report to the directors and boutique manager

• Oversee day-to-day running of the boutique

• Support and guide junior staff

About You

• Senior-level retail experience, ideally in a supervisory or lead capacity

• Prior experience in jewellery (particularly antique, vintage, or luxury) highly regarded, but candidates with strong experience in other high-end retail categories will be considered

• Excellent interpersonal and sales skills, with genuine enthusiasm for storytelling around each piece

• Confident, self-directed, and comfortable running a store

• Trustworthy and detail-oriented, given the value and provenance-sensitivity of the stock

Reporting
This role reports to the Directors and Boutique Manager.
