General Manager - South West (Toowoomba/Ipswich) AND General Manager - Gold Coast 

About the Roles:

The General Manager leads a region in delivering TAFE Queensland's strategic priorities through high-quality, industry-responsive and commercially sustainable vocational education and training (VET) services. Accountable for regional performance, growth and operational excellence, you will work closely with the CEO to drive business development, optimise service offerings and deliver strong financial outcomes.

This role provides strategic leadership to build a high-performing culture, strengthen operational effectiveness and foster innovation and organisational change. You will develop and maintain strong partnerships with industry, government, employers and community stakeholders to identify emerging workforce needs, enhance training pathways and support regional economic and social development.

We are seeking an accomplished executive with a proven track record of leading large, complex organisations, delivering strategy and driving growth. Ideally experienced in the VET sector, you will combine commercial acumen, strong stakeholder engagement and people leadership to achieve sustainable results and long-term success.

TAFE Queensland is the largest and most experienced vocational education and training provider in the state, with a history of serving Queensland communities for over 140 years.

Role Requirements:

The General Managers - South West and Gold Coast, offer true strategic leadership and both positions are instrumental in shaping the future of Queensland’s VET sector.

Key Capabilities for the General Manager roles:

• Demonstrated ability to provide visionary, strategic leadership to drive organisational change, build strategic partnerships, identify and grow commercial opportunities, and deliver sustainable business outcomes in alignment with TAFE Queensland’s strategic direction and values.
• Demonstrated success leading an enterprise delivering high-quality VET services in a competitive and dynamic market and an understanding of VET markets at the state, regional and local levels. 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, implement and manage a budget and drive workforce performance to achieve financial and operational targets, particularly in an environment of rapid change.
• Demonstrated high level negotiation, consultative, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with the potentially competing needs of various industry, government, customer and community stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with community leaders, local government, elected representatives, and advocacy groups, demonstrating a strong understanding of government, community and stakeholder contexts to strengthen stakeholder confidence, identify emerging issues and opportunities, and enhance TAFE Queensland's reputation. 
• Demonstrate your ability to live the TAFE Queensland values: Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on Our Customer, Taking Responsibility, and Showing Initiative.
