We are looking for a Manager, Health & Safety to lead and continuously evolve our safety culture across the site. This is a highly visible leadership role where you will partner with cross-functional teams to embed safety into daily operations, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and empowering leaders and teams to take ownership of safe execution.
Let’s Talk About The RoleAs our Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the site OH&S operating system, ensuring it is robust, compliant, and continuously improving.
You will act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, driving a “safety-first” culture and supporting teams across manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, and corporate functions to manage risks effectively.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a strong presence on the shop floor, coaching leaders, and ensuring safety is embedded into every process.
Let’s Talk About ResponsibilitiesSafety governance & complianceLead and maintain the site’s OH&S management system in line with Australian and NSW legislation and Resmed global standardsPartner with leadership to ensure due diligence and regulatory compliance (including SafeWork NSW engagement)Ensure audits, inspections, and reporting frameworks are effective and transparent Risk management & incident preventionDrive hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of effective controls across site operationsLead incident investigations, ensuring strong root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actionsPartner closely with Engineering, Production, and NPI teams to embed safety-by-design Safety culture, training & leadershipChampion a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, and leadership engagementEmbed safety routines and standard work across daily operations (e.g., shift start, Gemba, audits)Develop and maintain training frameworks and safety competencies across the site Ergonomics, injury management & return to workLead ergonomic risk reduction initiatives and injury prevention strategiesManage early intervention and return-to-work processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholdersProvide data-driven insights on injury trends and improvement opportunities Contractor, change & emergency managementEnsure contractor compliance with site safety requirements and standardsEmbed safety into change management, capital projects, and new product introductionLead emergency preparedness, response planning, and site drills
Let’s Talk About Qualifications And ExperienceRequired:Degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Ergonomics, or related fieldApproximately 5+ years of solid experience in an OH&S role within manufacturing, warehouse, or regulated environments (medical device, pharma, FMCG)Strong knowledge of Australian / NSW OH&S legislation and regulatory requirementsProven experience in risk management, incident investigation, and safety systemsStrong influencing skills with the ability to coach leaders and engage frontline teamsExcellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred:ISO 45001 audit experience or certificationReturn to Work Coordinator training (or willingness to obtain)Experience in regulated manufacturing or medical device environmentsExpertise in ergonomics, manual task assessment, or injury prevention
