A Uniting Church day and boarding school, Wesley College is proud to provide a caring and inclusive community underpinned by strong Christian values. Our Catering team plays a vital role in bringing our College community together every day.

We are currently inviting applications to join our Kitchenhand Recruitment Pool, supporting our busy Catering team across meal services for our Boarding students, staff, functions and special events. Appointments from our recruitment pool may include fixed-term, casual or ongoing opportunities, in line with College need.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering excellent service to students, parents, staff and external guests.

We currently have afternoon shifts available Wednesday to Sunday, 3.30pm–7.30pm, with applicable penalty rates applied. Regular day shifts are also available Monday to Friday, 7.00am–3.00pm, with opportunities for additional evening and weekend shifts.

Kitchenhands in our recruitment pool will assist with:

• Meal service for Boarding Residents and staff
• Front-of-house food and beverage service
• Event set-up and pack down
• Kitchen preparation and cleaning
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment (essential)
• Exceptional customer service skills
• A friendly, professional and positive approach
• Strong reliability and flexibility

You will also:

• Hold (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement) a current WA Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) a COVID-19 Hospitality & Tourism Hygiene qualification
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of OHS and food safety requirements
• Have experience in commercial cleaning operations (highly regarded)
