About the role
The Education Liaison provides specialist education administration and student support throughout the student lifecycle. The role manages academic progression, deferred examinations, Extenuating Circumstances Applications (ECAs), late withdrawal requests, and other complex student matters while ensuring compliance with University policies and legislative requirements. Working closely with Colleges, Associate Deans, and academic staff, the position delivers expert advice on academic programs, student administration, and compliance matters, including ESOS requirements. The Education Liaison also represents the Student Education and Experience Management (SEEM) Division at College meetings, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, and supports key University events to enhance the overall student experience.
The Person
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in a complex administrative environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You will have a proven ability to provide accurate advice in line with policy and regulatory frameworks, resolve complex issues, and deliver high-quality customer service.
You will be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff while also operating independently. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, strong digital literacy, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion are essential. Experience in higher education or student administration will be highly regarded.
The School/Department
Student Education Support sits within Student Engagement and Education Management (SEEM) and provides expert administrative support to students and academic staff across a range of programs. The team plays a critical role in ensuring students are supported throughout their academic journey, from enrolment through to graduation, while maintaining compliance with University and regulatory requirements.
The College/Division
The Division of Student Engagement and Education management (SEEM), within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) portfolio, is responsible for supporting students across the full student lifecycle. The Division provides leadership in student administration and works closely with colleges, schools and central divisions, as well as external stakeholders, to deliver high-quality services and continuously improve the student experience at ANU.
