Senior Snowflake Data Engineer

BI3 Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics consulting team and work across complex enterprise data transformation programs.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role suited to someone who is highly capable in Snowflake, SQL and modern cloud data engineering, and comfortable taking ownership of solutions from technical design through to production delivery.

You will work closely with data architects, analysts, engineers and client stakeholders to modernise legacy environments, build scalable data pipelines and data models, and deliver trusted, production-grade data platforms.

• Design, develop and optimise enterprise data solutions on Snowflake

• Build robust ELT/ETL pipelines for complex enterprise data sources

• Develop and maintain Snowflake data models, schemas, views and transformation layers

• Write advanced, high-performance SQL and optimise queries and workloads

• Implement incremental processing, CDC and historical data migration patterns

• Migrate workloads from legacy/on-premises and other cloud data platforms into Snowflake

• Develop integrations using cloud-native data and orchestration services

• Implement data quality, reconciliation, monitoring and exception-handling frameworks

• Apply Snowflake security including RBAC, secure access patterns and authentication

• Troubleshoot complex production data and platform issues

• Improve platform performance, reliability and cost efficiency

• Support CI/CD, automated deployment and engineering standards

• Work directly with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions

• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical design and engineering best practices

You will ideally have 7+ years of Data Engineering / Data Warehouse experience, including strong recent hands-on experience with Snowflake.

Essential skills:

• Advanced Snowflake engineering experience

• Expert-level SQL

• Strong ETL/ELT and data pipeline development experience

• Strong dimensional and relational data modelling knowledge

• Experience with large-scale data migration and transformation

• Strong understanding of Snowflake performance optimisation and cost management

• Experience with Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe and Dynamic Tables

• Experience implementing incremental loads and CDC patterns

• Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation and production support

• Experience with Git and CI/CD

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability

Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure, Databricks, dbt and/or Power BI would be highly regarded.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in large, complex enterprise environments and can demonstrate experience modernising legacy data platforms rather than simply developing new pipelines.

Snowflake certifications and previous consulting experience will also be highly regarded.
