As a Sous Chef at The Terraces, Paddington, you'll play an integral role in creating high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents, guests, and community members. With a focus on food safety, quality, and service excellence, you'll plan menus, coordinate café operations, and lead by example in a supportive and respectful environment.

Your opportunity

In this role, you'll take ownership of daily cafe operations, from food preparation to service delivery, ensuring residents and visitors enjoy a warm, welcoming and memorable experience.

With professionalism and creativity, you will:

• Deliver high-quality food and service to meet customer expectations
• Plan and coordinate café operations, including menus and stock ordering
• Proactively manage customer queries and provide timely solutions
• Maintain compliance with HACCP, WHS, and food safety regulations
• Monitor budgets, contribute to sales and marketing initiatives, and suggest process improvements
• Lead and support café staff through on-the-job training and teamwork

What you'll bring

You're a passionate and experienced chef with a flair for customer service and teamwork. You thrive in a hospitality environment where quality, safety, and client satisfaction are paramount.

What's required:

• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum four years' experience in the food industry
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
• Excellent communication and literacy skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
• A collaborative and positive approach to leading and supporting others

What's preferred:

• Experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments
• An understanding of service environments where customer experience is key
• A passion for creating food experiences that bring people together
