Native Mineral Resources (NMR) is a publicly listed minerals exploration company with a portfolio of precious metal and base metal properties in pedigree Australian settings.
NMR operates the Far Fanning Gold Mine and Blackjack Processing Plant, based in the Charters Towers region of Northern Queensland as part of a new and exciting transformational acquisition. This acquisition provides NMR with an established operational core, while retaining significant exploration potential. An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Human Resources Officer to join our Head Office team based in Port Macquarie.
About the role
We are seeking a practical, approachable and highly organised Human Resources Officer to provide generalist human resources support.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, workforce administration, HR reporting and site-based people initiatives.
A significant component of the role involves HR administration. The successful candidate must have strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate documentation, maintain employee records and manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment, pre-employment, onboarding, mobilisation and offboarding activities.
Prepare contracts, variations, correspondence, file notes and meeting records.
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files and HR system information.
Interpret and apply employment legislation, awards and company policies.
Support probation reviews, performance reviews, learning activities and employee engagement initiatives.
Provide practical and timely HR advice to site leaders and employees.
Support employee relations matters, including attendance, conduct, performance, grievances and workplace concerns.
Assist with investigations, disciplinary processes and performance improvement matters.
Monitor headcount, vacancies and employee movements and prepare workforce reports.
Contribute to improvements in HR systems, processes, templates and reporting.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a generalist HR Officer or similar role.
Strong HR administration skills and experience preparing employment documentation.
Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
Experience supporting employee relations, recruitment and performance management.
Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, the National Employment Standards and modern awards.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Confidence using HR systems, Microsoft Office and workforce reporting tools.
A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
