About the Role

As our HR Business Partner – ANZ, you'll be the essential connector between business strategy and people outcomes. Partnering closely with leaders across the organisation, you'll design and deliver HR initiatives that fuel engagement, elevate performance, and drive meaningful business results. This is a role for someone who loves being embedded in the business, building trusted relationships, and making a tangible impact on the people experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Partnership – Collaborate closely with business leaders to deeply understand their needs and co-create tailored HR solutions that align with and accelerate business objectives
• Employee Relations – Navigate employee relations matters with sensitivity, professionalism, and a sound understanding of relevant Australian and New Zealand employment legislation
• Talent Management – Lead end-to-end recruitment for allocated business units as applicable, and champion onboarding, succession planning, talent development, and retention strategies that build high-performing, engaged teams
• Change Management – Partner with leaders to support organisational change initiatives, developing clear communication strategies and thoughtfully managing the people dimensions of transformation
• Policy Development & Maintenance – Develop, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures that are fit-for-purpose, compliant with regulatory requirements, and reflective of best practice
• Market Intelligence – Stay ahead of the curve by proactively monitoring HR industry trends, market movements, and emerging people practices to keep Swiss Re competitive
• Employee Engagement – Design and lead initiatives informed by engagement survey insights that strengthen workplace culture and enhance employee satisfaction
• HR Reporting – Prepare accurate, timely, and insightful reports for leadership teams that support informed decision-making
• HR Analytics – Harness the power of data to generate meaningful insights and recommendations that drive continuous improvement and engagement
• Group Process Management – Oversee and coordinate key group-wide HR processes including goal setting, performance reviews, and annual compensation cycles — ensuring clear communication, timely follow-up, and full compliance
• Advise with confidence — Support line management on day-to-day and complex HR matters including performance management, employee relations, resourcing and reward, applying sound judgement within existing policies
• Build trust across the organisation — Act as a trusted intermediary between employees and leaders in disputes or conflicts, facilitating fair, compliant and pragmatic resolutions
• Deliver on ad hoc projects — Take on additional HR activities and projects as directed by the Group

About You

The skills and experience for this role include:

• Comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices across Australia and New Zealand
• Demonstrated HR Business Partner experience, with a proven track record of supporting and influencing leaders at multiple levels of an organisation
• Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret HR data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and HR analytics tools, and a genuine interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance HR delivery

• Experience leading or supporting change management in organisations undergoing significant transformation
• Background in a similar industry or multinational/global organisation
• Project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from conception to delivery
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of an organisation
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HR trends and innovative people practices
• Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced global environment, including flexibility for occasional out-of-hours calls
