Deli Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Deli Assistant to join our team at STIRLING IGA' in the Northern Suburbs & Joondalup Perth WA. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our deli department.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products, including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, and packaging items for sale

• Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and keeping the display cases well-stocked and presentable

• Providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, answering questions about products and making recommendations

• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards

• Assisting with other store operations as needed

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a retail or customer service role, preferably in a deli or food service environment

• Minimum of 6 months experience in retail or food service

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service

• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays

• A passion for fresh, quality food and a commitment to food safety

• Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain before starting

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15kg regularly

• Must have permanent right to work in Australia
