Application Specialist

About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide applications and technical support to all stakeholders for our diagnostic product range, which is primarily molecular-based techniques for infectious diseases and genetics, as well as immunology and serology. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration, and enjoys making processes efficient while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Be a primary point of contact for technical and applications issues

• Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner

• Provide internal and external customers with technical and application support ensuring satisfactory resolution for all stakeholders

• Organise and provide customers with hands-on workflow training and refresher courses at the customer site

• Develop and maintain a very high level of technical and applications knowledge

• Co-ordinate and participate in instrument installations, software updates and product demonstrations of the company's product range

• Effectively communicate and provide feedback to the Company on customer expectations

• Develop and implement customer support strategies in conjunction and consideration of all stakeholders

• Attend training sessions and other company business that may require evening/weekend attendance and/or interstate travel

• Adhere to the Company's requirements of the Quality Management System

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant scientific field

• 3+ years laboratory or relevant commercial experience

• Prior scientific applications and customer support experience is highly desired

• Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance

• Organised, friendly, and eager to contribute to process improvements

• Australian citizen or permanent resident

• Valid driver's license
