VB.NET / SQL Developer (Jnr – Mid)– Banking & Finance

My client has been providing web services to the financial sector for the last 20 years. Working both in Australian and Internationally, they have built and delivered products ranging from teller systems to Internet banking applications. 

Job Description

Focus on web application programming in a .NET environment as part of a 5-person development team.

• 3-5 year engagement on a daily rate of $300 - $400
• Work on large & complex systems
• Great learning environment 

Working as part of a small team in a large and forward-thinking banking organisation, the .NET Developer will be filling a void left by the previous developer who was promoted.

These are fairly complex systems so a certain amount of up-skilling will be required. An ability to quickly learn and absorb new information is essential.

Good communication skills and a team-orientated personality are a must as this is a tight knit team of 5. This particular role will be focused on supporting an Internet banking application.

All the technology is based on .NET running on ISS with Web Forms for the presentation layer. Language is VB.NET and there is a need to integrate with legacy systems. The Jnr. Developer will be coached and instructed on the systems for the first few weeks to ensure complete familiarity and confidence. 

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in .Net Development role within a financial services environment
• Strong and clear communication skills (written & verbal) with an ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven experience in a Microsoft Windows development environment
• Programming proficiency in VB.NET
• Commercial experience with SQL server
