Coordinator – Child and Parent Centre Rangeway

• Based in Geraldton

The Child and Parent Centre Rangeway is seeking a warm, organised and community-minded Coordinator to lead and support the delivery of programs, services and partnerships that help local children and families thrive. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development, family engagement and building strong connections across schools, services and the wider community. It will be responsible for guiding and ensuring high-quality provision of services which align with Ngala’s strategic priorities and purpose.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Coordinator, you will guide the day-to-day operations of the centre, strengthen partnerships and ensure families can access high-quality, welcoming and culturally responsive services. You will work closely with families, staff, Rangeway Primary School, local agencies, Aboriginal families and organisations, and community partners to identify local needs and coordinate programs that respond to those needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with the host school, and surrounding schools, local community members and other service providers, to develop and implement an agreed action plan of integrated services and activities for families with young children.
• Establish and maintain strong collaborate networks and partnerships in the local area.
• Establish and maintain a profile of the local community demographic and early childhood data.
• Provide effective leadership whilst promoting a work environment that empowers, motivates and develops the diverse talents of the local team.
• Oversee the implementation of programs/services ensuring contractual obligations are met effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain oversight of financial performance of allocated budget.
• Contribute to strategic planning and service integration.
• Coordinate the planning, delivery and review of centre programs and services for children and families.
• Build strong relationships with families, schools, community groups and service providers.
• Support a welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe centre environment.
• Identify emerging community needs and help shape responsive programs and partnerships.
• Maintain effective communication, administration, reporting and program coordination processes.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:

• Relevant industry experience and/or qualifications in a relevant field/s, including but not limited to, Human Services, Health, Education, Child/ren and Family studies, Community Development or a related field.
• Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary team and across government and non-government agencies.
• Demonstrated Aboriginal cultural competency, including the ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal children, families, Elders, community members and local Aboriginal organisations.
• Well-developed and effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, liaise with a broad range of people across all levels, both internally and externally and with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated commitment to a strengths based/capacity building approach including the Family Partnership Model.
• Well-developed knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and wellbeing.
• Effective strategic planning and project management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability including ability to broker relationships and partnerships.
• Well-developed self-management skills and ability to organise and prioritise workload.
• Highly developed communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, advocacy and group facilitation skills.
• Understanding of allied health disciplines and inter-professional practice.
• Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity and Occupational Safety and Health.
• Knowledge of effective school leadership practices (desirable).
• Intermediate/Proficient Administration level of competency

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

·Able to work across other Ngala sites as required.

·Possession of a current National Police Certificate.

·Possession of current WA driver’s licence.

·Possession of current Working with Children Check

·National Criminal History Check (Department of Education)
