Emu Gully Adventure Education Group
About the role
Help create the moments young people remember.
At Emu Gully, we don’t just run camps. We work as Partners in Education, creating shared experiences that challenge young people, build confidence, strengthen mateship and help them discover what they are capable of.
Our mission is simple: Shaping Great Australians.
We believe some of the best learning happens outside the classroom, through challenge, responsibility, struggle, shared experience and the stories that give those moments meaning.
And we’re looking for the right people to help us bring those experiences to life.
The Role
We are growing, and we are looking for Support Facilitators to join our Program Team at our Helidon site. This is a hands-on role working directly with school groups and other participants as they take part in Emu Gully programs and activities.
You’ll work alongside experienced Lead Facilitators, helping groups move through challenges, encouraging participants when things get tough, sharing stories and helping create the kind of experience students talk about long after they leave.
Some days will be muddy.
Some will be hot.
Some will involve walking a long way, helping someone find the courage to have another go, setting up an activity, telling a story or celebrating a group that finally worked something out together.
That’s the job.
And for the right person, it’s a pretty great one.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Support Facilitator, you’ll help deliver safe, engaging and meaningful Emu Gully programs.
Your days may include:
Our programs are built around experiences that develop courage, mateship, perseverance, leadership, teamwork and character. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to facilitate every one of them. You do need to arrive ready to learn.
Who We’re Looking For
We care a lot about character and attitude. Experience matters, but the right person for Emu Gully is someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people, is comfortable being outdoors and wants to contribute to something bigger than simply getting through a workday.
Experience working with young people through schools, camps, sport, coaching, mentoring, youth work or similar environments would be highly regarded.
Outdoor education qualifications or previous industry experience are also a bonus, but they are not essential.
You’ll probably fit well here if you:
Where You’ll Work
Emu Gully operates from two unique outdoor education sites in South East Queensland.
Our Helidon site has been delivering adventure education experiences for 30 years and remains the base for much of our training and program delivery.
Our growing Tamborine site provides another unique outdoor experience and is continuing to expand as part of Emu Gully’s future.
Support Facilitators may have opportunities to work across both locations depending on program requirements.
What We Offer
We want people to build capability and grow with us.
Along with a salary based on your experience, qualifications and level of responsibility, you’ll receive:
What You’ll Need
Before commencing employment, you will need to hold a current Working with Children Card.
You’ll also need to be able to meet the physical requirements of an active outdoor role and be available to work within the requirements of our program schedule.
Ready to Join Us?
If you’re looking for a job where you can work outdoors, develop your own skills and help young people discover something about themselves along the way, we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to have the perfect outdoor education résumé.
Bring the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to work with young people.
We’ll help with the rest.
Come and help us Shape Great Australians.
