Intermediate Accountant

About the Role

Our client is a progressive, mid-sized accounting firm based in Bondi Junction seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their growing team.

This opportunity is ideal for an accountant with Australian public practice experience who wants to develop their technical skills, gain greater client exposure and progress towards a Senior Accountant position.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for a range of clients.
• Assist with BAS, GST and other taxation and compliance requirements.
• Work across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and taxation matters.
• Assist with tax planning and business advisory matters.
• Manage assigned work and deadlines effectively.
• Build strong, long-term client relationships.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation.
• Experience with Xero; HandiSoft experience is highly regarded.
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards qualification, is preferred.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a desire to progress.
• Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
