We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance Team based in Townsville.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and strong supplier relationships.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function and supporting the broader finance team. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Maintain high volume Accounts Payable inbox accurately and efficiently
• Receive, verify, and process a high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation, and complete timely follow up when discrepancies are identified.
• Prepare and process supplier payments within agreed trading terms.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate Accounts Payable records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Assist with auditing and other reporting functions as required.

About You

• Previous experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable position, Finance Administration, or similar roles  (desirable).
• Strong invoice processing and reconciliation skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach and commitment to teamwork.
• A high level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
