Procurement Officer – Darwin

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to provide strategic leadership and expert advice on procurement planning, contract management and compliance for East Arnhem Regional Council (EARC), ensuring all procurement activities align with organisational objectives and meet legislative and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and optimise Key Supplier Agreements using advanced supply chain analysis and ensure compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement and best‑practice procurement aligned with legislation and policy.
• Provide strategic procurement support to management and staff.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end tenders and complex quotations, resolving procurement issues independently.
• Represent EARC in negotiations to secure favourable outcomes.
• Review performance requirements, delivery schedules and cost estimates.
• Deliver regular supply panel and spend analysis reports for key stakeholders.
• Drive innovation through technology and best‑practice adoption.
• Actively participate in professional development, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements, promoting a safe working environment.
• Undertake other duties consistent with the position as reasonably directed by the line manager.

  
What we’re looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a related discipline.
• Detailed knowledge of policies, procedures and business processes relating to purchasing and contracting, inventory control and analysis processes.
• High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Prior experience using Technology One software and/or Magiq Docs, plus DocuSign powerforms.

  
What you’ll receive:

• Salary ($96,200.42 - $102,058.97 per year, excluding super), with annual reviews under the Enterprise Agreement
• 6 weeks of annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
