Plumber & Sprinkler Fitter – 2 Positions Available | Fire Services

Quick Response Fire Protection is looking to expand our team with two experienced tradespeople:

1 x Plumber – Underground Works / Fire Services
1 x Sprinkler Fitter – Fire Protection

These are two separate full-time positions within our growing fire protection team.

Based in Malaga, Quick Response Fire Protection provides fire protection installation, maintenance and project services throughout Perth and regional Western Australia.

We are looking for reliable, capable tradespeople who take pride in their workmanship and want to join a team with a strong pipeline of commercial and construction work.

We are seeking a qualified plumber to primarily undertake the plumbing and underground components of our fire protection projects.

This role will predominantly involve:

• Underground fire service pipework

• Fire hydrant mains

• Water service connections

• Civil and underground pipe installations

• Backflow prevention device installations

• Backflow testing and associated works where appropriately qualified

• Booster and fire service connections

• Valve installations and replacements

• Above-ground fire service pipework where required

• Alterations and upgrades to existing systems

• Reading plans, hydraulic drawings and specifications

• Coordinating with builders, civil contractors and other trades

• Testing, commissioning and completing relevant documentation

• General commercial plumbing associated with fire protection projects

• Current WA plumbing qualifications/licence

• Commercial plumbing experience

• Experience with underground pipework

• Experience with backflow prevention devices

• Current Backflow Prevention accreditation (highly regarded)

• Experience within the fire protection industry (highly regarded)

• Ability to read plans and work independently

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Construction White Card

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Fire industry experience would be highly regarded; however, an experienced commercial plumber with strong underground and backflow experience would also be encouraged to apply.

We are also seeking an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our wet fire projects team.

This role will primarily focus on the installation, alteration and completion of fire sprinkler systems across commercial and construction projects.

Duties may include:

• Installation of fire sprinkler systems

• Measuring, cutting, grooving and fitting pipework

• Installation of sprinkler heads, valves and associated equipment

• Installation of fire hydrant and hose reel pipework where required

• Alterations and extensions to existing sprinkler systems

• Reading fire services drawings and installation plans

• Rough-in and fit-off works

• Testing and commissioning

• Defect rectification and minor works

• Working closely with project supervisors, plumbers and other trades

• Completing work to relevant Australian Standards and project specifications

• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation

• Relevant sprinkler fitting qualifications and industry experience

• Previous commercial fire sprinkler installation experience

• Strong knowledge of sprinkler pipework and fittings

• Ability to read fire services drawings

• Experience working on construction sites

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Construction White Card

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Pride in producing neat, high-quality work

Experience across hydrants, hose reels and other wet fire systems would also be advantageous.
