ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking an experienced Computer Science & Engineering Teacher based at our Hornsby campus.
This will be a permanent full-time (1.0FTE) role commencing 1 January 2027.
Barker College runs an orientation event for new staff on 20 January 2027, prior to the whole staff returning for Professional Development on 22 January 2027.
We are seeking a creative, innovative and experienced educator who is passionate about Digital Technologies and Computer Science, and who remains current with evolving industry and curriculum developments. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach Software Engineering and/or Enterprise Computing and Computing Technology. Experience or strong interest in iSTEAM and Engineering curriculum design and delivery will be highly regarded.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding Computer Science & Engineering department and contribute to curriculum development, exemplary pedagogical practice, and whole-school STEAM initiatives.

Barker College is a child safe organisation and all statutory checks and references are required prior to confirmation of employment. A NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check will be required.
Barker College is committed to a safe work environment and all staff members work within our WHS Policy & Procedures and other relevant documentation.
Barker College will require all Teaching Staff to provide evidence of their Tertiary Qualifications and have an understanding of and experience in relevant NESA syllabus documents and teacher accreditation requirements.
All teaching staff participate in the School’s extensive Pastoral Care and co-curricular programs. The ability to coach sports is highly desirable.
