Our client is a leading national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers. Through education, advocacy, support services and community engagement, they work to improve quality of life and ensure communities have access to culturally safe and inclusive support.
Recognising the importance of community-led approaches, our client is committed to strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and ensuring services are responsive, respectful and accessible.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and well-connected Community Liaison and Support professional to join a growing team supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Alice Springs and Central Australia.
Working three days per week (preferred Tuesday to Thursday), this position plays a vital role in building strong relationships with communities, increasing awareness of dementia support services and ensuring individuals and families can access culturally safe support when they need it.
This role is based in a shared office space in Alice Springs and offers opportunities to travel to remote Aboriginal communities throughout Central Australia. Occasional travel to Darwin and interstate may also be required for conferences, training and organisational events.
This role will work closely alongside another Community Liaison and Support team member to ensure culturally appropriate engagement across communities. A dedicated mentor based in Darwin will also provide ongoing support and guidance.
This is currently a 0.6 FTE position due to funding arrangements. Should additional funding become available, there may be opportunities for increased hours in the future.
