About the role
Imagine working every day to transform dream gowns into reality. At Grace Loves Lace, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for a talented Garment Technician to join our Global HQ team in beautiful Burleigh Heads!
This is a Full Time in house 12-month maximum term contract opportunity.
In this role you'll transform designer vision into reality; crafting patterns, refining fits, and ensuring every gown meets the exceptional quality and design standards our brides around the world adore.
What You’ll Do
Translating design visions into flawless patterns and technical packsCreate accurate patterns, graded specs, and POMs for production.Develop bespoke patterns and Made-to-Order variations.Update existing patterns and specifications to improve accuracy and efficiency.Utilise Style CAD software for pattern creation, grading, and motif/lace placement.Finessing fits and finishes so each gown feels as good as it looksDriving innovation in quality, sustainability, and process improvementManage fit sessions and recommend amendments for quality, fit, and efficiencyPartner with our in-house design team, cutting, sewing, and wider production teams to ensure flawless constructionProvide technical documentation and clear communication to offsite suppliers & in-house teamsDrive continuous improvement in quality, sustainability, and production processes
What You’ll Bring
5+ years’ experience in garment construction (experience in bridal or eveningwear is advantageous)Technical expertise in pattern making, grading, and fitStrong proficiency with Style CAD, Adobe Illustrator, and garment tech processes (creating tech packs)Deep knowledge of lace, silk, crepe, satin, and stretch fabricsA collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and exceptional attention to detailKnowledge of lace, crepe, satin, silk and stretch fabrics.Understanding of global quality standards and legal labelling requirements.Excellent draping, fitting, and problem-solving skills.Strong time management and process adherence.Collaborative team player with confident decision-making skills.Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and NetSuite (or similar).Qualification in Design or Pattern Making is advantageous
