Health and Saftey Officer

About the role

The Health, Safety & Quality Officer supports the HSEQ Manager in maintaining and enhancing M. Tucker & Sons Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System. This is a varied role combining office-based administration with regular field work across operational sites and project locations, ensuring the business remains compliant with legislative requirements and internal management systems while driving a positive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace inspections and site safety audits across multiple work sites

• Complete field observations and verify compliance with company procedures

• Assist with maintaining the company's Integrated Management System

• Undertake quality assurance inspections and compliance audits

• Assist with risk assessments, SWMS reviews and hazard management

• Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed

• Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements

• Process HSEQ documentation, reports and compliance records

• Assist with maintaining training, licensing and competency records

• Prepare audit reports and assist with continuous improvement initiatives

About you

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain)

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety, HSEQ or Compliance role

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

• Confidence working independently across multiple locations

• Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office

• Ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels

• Current Victorian Driver's Licence

• Experience within the civil construction, waste management, infrastructure or environmental services industries (desirable)
