Help shape the way integrity and ethics operate within CAHS. 

We currently have three positions available: Two Permanent Full Time appointments and; One Fixed Term Full Time appointment for six months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and committed Senior Consultant – Integrity and Ethics to join our team at the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) and help strengthen our culture of fairness and accountability.

Reporting to the Manager, Integrity and Ethics, you will provide expert advice, support key decision-makers, and ensure CAHS meets its obligations under relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.

You will undertake initial assessment, administrative investigation, and external reporting of matters such as misconduct, breaches of discipline, conflicts of interest, and information breaches. You will ensure quality assurance of decisions and prepare reports for oversight bodies including the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC), Ombudsman WA, WA Police Force, Department of Health, Public Sector Commission, and Ahpra, in accordance with applicable legislation.

You will also help drive continuous quality improvement by identifying trends and gaps across CAHS, raising systemic issues, and contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and education initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing breach of discipline processes, monitoring open matters, maintaining quality assurance and supporting compliance in line with relevant legislation, and reviewing outcomes and lessons learned.
• Serving as a trusted advisor in complex and often sensitive matters, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and regulators.
• Delivering education and resources to build capability among staff and leadership and support cultural change initiatives.
• Participating in key committees and integrity governance initiatives, helping to develop CAHS-wide responses to integrity issues, implement change and raise awareness of national and international issues and policy development in the integrity space.
• Acting as a registered Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Officer.

If you have strong investigation and analytical skills, including experience managing complex and sensitive matters, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities we encourage you to apply.

The Integrity and Ethics team at CAHS plays a vital role in upholding the organisation’s commitment to the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and accountability. Guided by our vision, values, and the WA Health Code of Conduct, the team ensures that integrity is embedded in all aspects of service delivery and staff conduct across CAHS.

The team provides expert advice, oversees misconduct and disciplinary matters, and proactively addresses systemic issues through policy, education, and analysis. We promote a culture of trust, transparency, and ethical behaviour.

Working closely with leadership and oversight bodies, the team helps ensure CAHS continues to operate with integrity—always putting the wellbeing of children and families first.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
