About the Role
The HDR Engagement and Development Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of development, training and engagement programs for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates and their supervisors. Working closely with the Engagement and Development Coordinator, you will provide operational and administrative support to ensure workshops, events, communications and learning resources are delivered effectively, contributing to a high-quality HDR experience and a thriving research culture at UOW.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate the delivery of HDR workshops, training sessions and engagement activities, ensuring a seamless participant experience across face-to-face, online and hybrid formats.
Develop and distribute communications that promote HDR development opportunities and support engagement with students and supervisors.
Maintain and update HDR development resources, records and digital platforms, including Moodle, websites and program materials.
Provide responsive administrative support, managing enquiries, registrations, event logistics and post-event reporting while ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.
About the Team
The School of Graduate Research and Research Culture sits within UOW's Research & Innovation portfolio and provides end-to-end support for Higher Degree by Research candidates throughout their research journey. The team works closely with HDR students, supervisors, academic leaders and professional staff across the University to enhance the HDR experience, support researcher development, and foster a culture of research excellence, integrity and innovation.
What You'll Bring
A relevant qualification and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and administrative experience.
Proven experience providing high-quality administrative or operational support in a busy and complex environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
Experience coordinating events, workshops or training activities, including participant communications and logistics.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and maintain information across digital platforms.

Permanent, Continuing Full-time appointment
Level 5: Salary commencing from $85,682 - $96,898 + 17% superannuation
Location: Wollongong Campus
This position is not suitable for remote working arrangements.
Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
