Overnight Veterinary Nurse – Part Time or Full Time

Manly Road 24 Hr Veterinary Hospital (MRVH) is seeking Overnight Emergency Vet Nurses/Techs who are interested in expanding their skills through exposure to a wide variety of cases.

MRVH is a large, privately owned, multi-faceted Veterinary Hospital providing a range of medical and surgical services including ophthalmology, preventative care, emergency care, orthopaedics, dental health, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and clinical pathology.

As one of the few 24-hour veterinary hospitals in the area, our highly experienced overnight team provides around-the-clock critical care for emergency patients and ongoing management of complex medical cases requiring hospitalisation throughout the night.

Responsibilities:

• Triaging emergency patients and wildlife as required.

• Assisting veterinarians in ER consultations, examinations, lab tests, surgeries and other medical procedures (including x-ray, ultrasounds).

• Placing IV catheters and blood collection for surgical, hospital and ER patients.

• Surgical preparation, anaesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.

• Conducting TPRs and maintaining accurate medical records.

• Administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.

Ideal Candidates:

• Previous Vet Nurse experience.

• Ability to work 8.30pm to 6.30am.

• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.

• Excellent communications skills and ability to work well in a team.

• Relevant qualifications (Vet Nurse/Vet Tech) ideal but not essential
