Role Highlights: Join ASC's corporate Finance team in a Financial Accountant role focused on financial accounting, reporting, governance and continuous improvement. Work closely with stakeholders across the business while supporting the integrity and accuracy of ASC Group financial information.
Role Overview
This Financial Accountant will play a key role within ASC's corporate financial accounting team, supporting the integrity, governance and accuracy of financial data across the ASC Group. Reporting to the Finance Manager – Financial Accounting and Reporting, you'll work across general and project ledgers, month-end reconciliations, journals, project costs, overhead allocations, payroll accounting, capital and lease accounting, subsidiary accounting and financial reporting. A significant part of the role is ensuring financial information is accurate, compliant and appropriately recorded, while providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders across the business.
You'll work closely with Finance colleagues and a diverse range of stakeholders, responding to enquiries, investigating accounting issues and contributing to improvements across financial processes, systems and internal controls.

Responsibilities
Candidate Profile
As an ideal candidate you are an experienced Financial Accountant with proven experience in a similar role within a corporate accounting environment. You bring strong technical accounting capability and a sound working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, with the ability to apply accounting principles within a complex corporate environment.
You will have experience across financial accounting and reporting, including general and project ledgers, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, project costs, overhead allocations and financial controls. Exposure to capital and lease accounting, payroll accounting, subsidiary accounting, forecasting and audit support will be highly regarded.
Strong MS Office skills are required, including a high degree of confidence in MS Excel. Experience working with financial business information systems is important, with the ability to learn and work effectively across new systems.
You'll also be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people. You can provide clear advice and guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders, develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively as part of a team.
CA/CPA qualified or part-qualified, with relevant post-membership experience, is required. Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting are also essential.
