Looking for more than data entry and repetitive compliance work?

At Simon Jones & Co, you will work directly with experienced accountants and managers, gain early client contact and develop practical skills across tax, business services and self-managed superannuation funds.

You will be supported to develop your skills across a broad range of public practice work, including:

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.

• Preparing BAS and IAS and assisting with tax planning and compliance.

• Preparing SMSF accounts and annual returns using BGL software.

• Communicating directly with clients to obtain information and answer questions.

• Assisting senior accountants and managers with business advisory work.

• Using modern accounting systems, automation and AI tools.

This is a genuine career-development role where you will learn by working on real client matters with daily support from experienced team members.

This opportunity would suit:

• A recent or soon-to-be accounting graduate; or

• A junior accountant with up to three years of public practice experience.

You will ideally have:

• A completed or nearly completed accounting degree.

• An interest in taxation, business services and SMSFs.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Good attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.

• A positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

• An interest in commencing or continuing the CA or CPA program.

Experience with Xero, MYOB or BGL is helpful but not essential. We are happy to train the right person.

Applicants must have Australian working rights at the time of application.

• Up to three days working from home each week once trained.
