The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Family Law Partner to lead its family law practice in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to shape and drive a practice with genuine autonomy, managing complex property, parenting and financial matters while contributing to firm strategy and leadership as a member of the partnership. It suits a senior practitioner with a portable practice, or an emerging leader ready to step into partnership, seeking meaningful equity potential within a supportive and well-established firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the family law practice, managing complex property, parenting and financial matters from inception through to resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser on sensitive and high-net-worth matters.
• Drive business development through referral networks, professional networks and community engagement.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and support staff, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
• Contribute to firm strategy, leadership and culture as a member of the partnership.
• Manage practice financials including billing, budgets and matter profitability.

About You

• Admitted to practise in NSW with 10+ years' post-admission experience in family law.
• Demonstrated expertise across complex property settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements and family law litigation.
• An established client following or demonstrated capacity to build a practice.
• Accredited Specialist in Family Law highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven business development capability.
• A collaborative leadership style and commitment to mentoring junior talent.
