Business Development Manager - Major Accounts - NSW & Victoria

Applied Industrial Technologies is a leading industrial distribution company providing engineering, fluid power, bearings, power transmission and maintenance solutions to customers across Australia. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team and drive contract sales growth across New South Wales and Victoria.

Reporting to the National Contracts Manager and working closely with our State Sales Teams, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening major customer relationships, and delivering sustainable sales and profit growth within our contract customer segment.

About the Role

This is a hands-on business development role suited to a proactive sales professional who thrives on identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships, and winning new business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving sales and profit growth across the contract customer segment in NSW and Victoria
• Identifying, targeting and securing new business opportunities and markets
• Developing and implementing customer growth strategies and account plans
• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
• Collaborating with internal sales teams to maximise customer outcomes
• Reviewing and managing contract agreements to ensure alignment with pricing structures and supplier cost movements
• Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
• Providing regular market intelligence and business insights to the National Contracts Manager and leadership team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record of business development and account growth within industrial, technical, engineering or related sectors.

You will also bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Sales, Marketing, Business or a related discipline (desirable)
• Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets
• Strong B2B business development and relationship management experience
• Commercial acumen and the ability to identify and develop value-based solutions
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills
• A self-driven approach with a passion for winning new business
• Willingness to travel throughout New South Wales and Victoria as required
