Geomembrane/HDPE Welding Labourers and Technicians

About the role

We are seeking Geosynthetic Technicians and Labourers to join our field installation teams. This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who want to build a career in geosynthetics, working on the deployment and installation of geomembrane and related lining systems across a variety of civil and environmental projects. This role is FIFO, with travel and accommodation arranged for site rotations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and deployment of geomembrane, GCL, geotextile, and related geosynthetic materials in line with project specifications.

• Prepare work areas, materials, and equipment ahead of installation activities.

• Carry out seaming, jointing, and anchoring tasks under the guidance of supervisors and senior technicians.

• Support quality assurance activities, including basic inspections and documentation of installation progress.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment on site.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to keep projects on track.

• Maintain equipment and tools, and keep work areas tidy and organised.

• Be willing to learn new techniques and take on training as required.

About you

• No prior experience required; full training provided. Previous experience in geomembrane or geosynthetic lining installation is highly desired.

• A willingness to learn installation techniques for HDPE, LLDPE, geotextiles, GCLs, and geocomposites.

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, including on remote FIFO sites.

• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• A current driver's licence is highly regarded.

• White Card (construction induction) required, or willingness to obtain one before starting.

• Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia on a FIFO basis.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment police check and drug and alcohol screening. Ongoing random testing applies while on site.
