About the role
This position works across Nyirripi and Yuelamu communities in Central Australia.
Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. CDRC builds sustainable communities through traditional local government services such as waste management, road repair and upgrades, and community services (Community Safety, Children’s Services; Youth, Sport and Recreation, Aged Care) in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population are Aboriginal people.
The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of Remote Australia Employment Services across Central Desert communities within their designated region. The role provides day-to-day supervision, guidance and operational support to community-based staff, performs culturally responsive case management, including participation activities, training pathways and employment outcomes. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the Assistant Program Manager engages with community stakeholders and works with the Community Projects Coordinator to deliver local projects and ensure services are delivered in line with funding guidelines, contractual obligations and Council policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
